My DD (aged 11) has been a bit of a conundrum over the years, in terms of her education. School said all was good, but she clearly has had various things going on (slow to read, poor spelling, always wanting to do things her own way, very against homework).
I took her to an Ed psych to unpack things a bit more (partly because she is in last year of primary school) and she got a diagnosis of dyslexia. (She already has a diagnosis of visual stress too and wears tinted glasses). The Ed psych did Conner’s forms too (me and school) as a screener for ADHD and it looks pretty likely, so I’m going to go down the NHS route to see where that goes.
This is all quite new for me, and I have suggestions from the Ed Psych on what school can do to help, but I wondered if there is anyone else whose child has dyslexia and ADHD who can help with any suggestions or advice?
