Irish mums: can you tell me about getting in to primary schools in Dublin?

I am Irish but have lived in the UK for nearly 20 years. To our delight my dh may be transferred to Dublin soon. I'm concerned about schools because DD1 will be five in Novemeber and is due to start primary school here in September. Can anyone advise me on legal school age, cut off dates for applying to primary schools, late applications etc?
Thanks!

Hi MirandaG.I live in Ireland but not Dub.There is an Irish website called rollercoaster.ie.I am sure you will find all the info you need on there.Good Luck

Miranda, change your setting and I will send you a CAT and we can chat over e-mail. I think I can give you some information. I don't want to put any personal details on public board though.

2nd that about rollercoaster.ie Actaully, this time last year I was on the education board and people were telling me about the different schools and their various cut off dates etc.

PLUS YOU CAN PM ANY OTHER POSTER FOR FREE ON ROLLERCOASTER. YOU ARE NOT CHARGED A FIVER!!!

just thought I'd mention that.
