MN favourite primary schools

I've seen this done on another site and it seemed a really good idea--quick, flash recommendations of primary schools.

(BTW I've name-changed to preserve anonymity but am a regular poster and can prove it by reference to threads on table cloths in the school carpark, eating grapes in supermarket, Zenia on private schools, etc.)

If you keep to this format it's easy for people to skim the thread.

FARINGDON/WANTAGE: SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE

Uffington Primary School in Oxfordshire (near Faringdon and Wantage).

Great for: caring ethos, literacy, good leadership by head; also has excellent Foundation Stage Unit.

pity nobody is interested in this....

its school not a lipstick.. thats why. its not that its a bad idea to do this, but the notion of choice of school is so convoluted that other posters may think its in bad taste to show preference in this way when they know other parents won't get their choice of school and you have...comes over as a bit smug to be honest.

not smug at all to be honest, if you have a look at our school, it is certainly not the oversuscribed white middle class school you might be thinking of, it is a mix of everything, lots of kids on free meals, lots of families under stress, ofsted report is not great, etc, etc, but it is a very well-managed school....absolutely lovely. i want my neighbours to know about it because they might not realize what a little gem it is.
