SPJS and WUS 8+ Preparation Advice!

Hello all,

My DS will be sitting the 8+ exam for SPJS and WUS this January 2025. I have read different things here so could anyone clarify whether the exams are online on a computer, or whether they have physical written papers? Both schools websites are quite vague and mysterious about this! DS is very academic and flying through school so we haven't been tutoring him, I was thinking we should do a little bit of ATOM, CGP and Exam Papers Plus; would this be a good plan? Have I missed anything that might help him?

Do we know is it likely movements in WUS and SPJS? How likely to get a place from waiting list?

I would expect the first movements on wait lists to only happen after the offer decision deadline. One piece of good news this year is that the 'usual suspects' in a cross-offer situation; namely WUS, SPJS and KCS; all have similar decision timelines at the end of the month. Hopefully, those waiting shouldn't have to wait too long for this initial movement.

One can gleam from MN that a few families have cross offers. Once they make their choice, there will be movement!

Additionally, I expect a second set of movements towards the end of the Spring term when the school has visibility on current pupils who might be moving out at the end of the Summer requiring them to backfill from their waitlists. Speculatively, SPJS and KCS waitlists might move more than WUS at this stage, simply based on the size of their 7+ classes.

Good luck to everyone with making your final decisions. Any movement of waiting list for anyone so far?
