DH went to parents evening yesterday (his turn I got to stay at home ). Anyway when he came back he told me all about what was said (well as much as he remembered - it will probably come out in dribs and drabs over the next few days together with "I told you that - NO you didn't !).

What struck me was when I asked him about SATS - he looked puzzled and said it wasn't mentioned at all.

I am right in thinking year 2 is major sats year aren't I - and many schools are totally stressing all concerned (teachers, kids and parents) about it ?

It is quite refreshing that DS's teachers didn't even mention it .

My dd's school sounds similiar to Fennel's. We've been told it's sometime during the summer term and apparently the only thing they will know about it is they get to move the desks around and get their own pencil. DD hasn't had any extra homework.

When DD was in Y2 we had a newsletter sent home telling us they would be doing SATS but that we shouldn't worry about them or let the children worry about them.
DD handed it to me asking 'What are these tests I'm not supposed to worry about?'
When I told the head she laughed & said DD obviously didn't need to worry if she could read the letter - but I noticed that the next year the letter went out in an envelope!

No Yr 2 SATs not major. Teacher asessment mainly now anyway.

No school should stress about it, certainly not to the kids. Or the parents.

at Lazybum's school.

my ds has undercover sats I'm guessing. His homework this week has boxes on the front for the sore to be written. It is also 15 pages and each page is a small paragraph with multiple choice questions asking which comprehension is suitable.
