PTA ideas - community

Hello, I know there are already lots of threads on here about raising money for school PTAs but this one is slightly different!

We already do discos, non-uniform days, cake bakes and a few other things. I'm looking for ideas that raise money from the local community, not just the parents / carers within the school.

Has anyone had much luck with community treasure hunts? Any other ideas of ways to raise money without asking the parents to cough up all the time?

Thanks!

I have a good, easy, cost free suggestion for you. I use it to support my local hospice.

Easyfundraising (there's an app).
Download app.
Sign up to your cause (PTA will need to register as a cause first).
If you want to shop at Amazon, John Lewis (loads of others) online just go into easyfundraising app, type in 'Amazon' it takes you to your Amazon account, you order and PTA get a %.

Honestly, it is so easy!

Our school does easy fundraising too.

Have you thought about signing the school up for the Tesco blue token/grant scheme?

The school also get local businesses on board to support school events- eg sponsorship, prizes etc.

It's also common in our town to have estate agents supporting school events- in return, groups of parents display their board, which advertises the event as well as the agent (think the PTA can increase funding by increasing the number of boards?). They do this for school fireworks and the Xmas and Summer fetes.

Apply for a grant -

The funding aims to make a positive difference – because where our communities thrive, our business and our colleagues thrive too. Tesco Stronger Starts is managed by Groundwork who are working with Greenspace Scotland to support applicants in Scotland...

Do you have a parish council? If you have a specific project you're raising money for they may offer grants.
