Hi I’m a FTM and my baby is just 1 yo
im told I have to be prepared in advance about where I want my kid to go to school and live in that catchment area
I have no idea about schools in Belfast
i obviously want my child to go to the best school and receive a good holistic education
can someone guide me here?
i prefer staying in the south of Belfast

South Belfast is a great area school wise - Stranmillis and St. Brides are extremely good and most kids will go on to Methody, Victoria or Inst. Places are very competitive and the catchment is tight so you’re right to be planning so far in advance. Cairnshill and St. Ita’s are further out towards the Four Winds area but again have a good reputation and are very popular. There’s also lots of choice re: prep schools if you wanted to go down that route (Fullerton House, Downey House, Inchmarlo, Victoria Prep). DD went to one of these preps and had an amazing experience all round, for us it was well worth the money.

Thanks, this is very helpful. Just a question, prep school for what? To get into grammar school?
