Hello, just wondering if anyone can give any advice. We moved home last November and our current primary school isn’t local anymore. I’d appealed to our now nearest school, which got declined and I asked to appeal. The hearing was this Tuesday and I’ve just received a letter this morning saying my child had been accepted and appeal approve. Although I also at the same time received a second letter saying this was a mistake and to ignore the first letter. (The second letter was dated a day later but got send 1st class instead of second so arrived same day). Do I have any grounds to argue a case for this as when I opened the first letter I was so happy we had got a place.

I'm afraid not. They are allowed to withdraw an offer made in error provided they do so promptly. As both letters arrived on the same day, they have not done anything wrong. However, I would enquire as to how the incorrect offer came to be made.

Ah yes, thought as much. I’ll query it though and see what they say. Thank you
