Primary schools in Southampton area (or close by)

As we are relocating to Southampton (or neighbouring places), I am looking for primary school Y3 for an in-year entry in a few months' time.

We value not only the school performance but also good options for wrap-up clubs, pastoral care, music/inspiring activities and, preferably, those with no religious background or notorious for their waiting lists...

Would you recommend any schools that I should try or avoid, please?

My DC went to Shirley Juniors for a couple of years when we moved temporarily to Southampton, and we were pleased with it. It offers a range of clubs, has a choir etc.

And all the children move up to it from the infant school in year 3 as it is a junior school, so that might make the adjustment slightly easier for your dc also!

Romsey has a collection of good primary and secondary schools if that isn't too far out?
