Just wondered if anyone had experience who applied in Jun onward for the next Sept in-year transfer, when did you hear back from the admission, either being on waiting list or being offered a space.

Two days into the start of the new September term. Couldn’t get any sense out of the council admissions team before then.

I would call or email the school you want directly before the end of term as they may be able to tell you the likelihood / timing of you getting a place.

ime you’re unlikely to hear anything once the school holidays start until the beginning of the next term

I did this last year for secondary, same sort of time period.
I got a letter in the summer holidays acknowledging my application and a place came up a few weeks into the September term (apparently there are people who don’t accept allocated place or move house without telling anyone, but 3 weeks or so into September the schools have a good idea as to who is actually on roll and spare places are offered). We got a phone call from the school admissions person and it was pretty much ‘can you come in tomorrow for the paperwork and some streaming assessments and then your DD can start full time the day after’

Good luck! It was quite a stressful period for my family but it worked out and DD is very happy where she is now.

I put in a request for an un year transfer 3 weeks ago and I heard last week that my DD had been placed on the waitlist as the school was full in her year group.

Did they also tell you the position that you are in?

Nottinghamshire allocated for next year and informed parents today.

A lot of children will remain on waiting lists until any children moving are removed from roll after they start at new schools in September. That's when all the movement occurs.

Im in Devon. I had to ring up and find out what position DD was in.
