Lenzie or Kirkintlloch?

Lenzie quite expensive imo, Kirkintilloch or Stepps a bit more house for your money and schools seem quite good. I think the league tables only give you a bit of an idea, have heard lots of differing opinions about whether some schools are better than others.

Don't know about south or west of glasgow though.

I'm from Lenzie and went to school in Kirkintilloch, but was a long time ago.

I think the Lenzie schools are meant to be good, a lot of friends went to Lemzie Academy and it gets good results but was a huge, oversubscribed school, busting at the seams, when i was young, so i think the less able kids kinda got left behind. might be different now.

i went to school in kirkintilloch as i'm catholic and there's no catholic schools in lenzie, so if you're catholic you can kiss goodbye to a school within walking distance if you live in lenzie. at the time, kirky was quite rough and so were the schools, might have changed by now, but i hated school and was always being teased for being 'posh' and 'living in a bought house'. st ninians high school has just been bulldozed so should be rebuilt all shiny and new in a few years.

on't know about the rest of glasgow, i think schools around the west end are meant to be pretty good.

Bearsden is a nice suburb with good schools, though I think the housing is expensive. I've got friends who moved there partly for the schools and they're very happy there.
