The Rowans School v The Study (Wimbledon)

Hi all,

I need to choose between The Rowans School and The Study Prep, both in Wimbledon, for my daughter to start in Reception.

Finding it very hard to pick as I love the facilities and vibe of The Rowans but know it is boy-heavy and up to age 7 only. The Study will take her to age 11 but I wasn’t as impressed when visiting.

Any advice please from parents at these schools? Thank you!

Where would you plan to move her at 7 if she went to the Rowans? Some local prep schools do have a 7+ but you need to check how many they take. Most of the local girls schools have their main entrance points at 4+ and 11+.

LEH starts at 7+ (if that's close enough) but it's quite a full-on school, and she may not get in. WHS then moving to LEH if she gets in at 7+ might make sense if you're looking for selective (since she could stay on at WHS otherwise).

But if you're not looking for a selective school, why not start wherever she would go for the rest of junior school?

Where else have you looked at and when is she starting Reception? What are you looking for in a school, and what are your plans for seniors?

Hello! We’re in a same situation—really love the vibe at Rowans but are a bit concerned about it being boy-heavy and the 7+ transition. Which school did you end up choosing in the end?
