Hi, Looking for your experiences. We are moving to Bath by Sept and our son will be joining junior school. (Y3) We are looking for an all through school ( ie running till A levels ).

Our current school is quite small but not great on pastoral care, our son is extremely bright, very competative, yet quite a sensative soul. We are not looking for a pressurised environment for him.

Does anyone have any experience with either of the two schools. Or can recommend another all through well rounded school in the area for a very academic boy. We are happy to be based outside of Bath too.

TIA

Hi,
my daughter goes to Kingswood she is starting Y3.Pastoral care is great, lots of clubs 4.15-5.15 and late care up to 6pm.
She loves it there. There are more boys than girls in each of the classrooms. The school is definitely well rounded.I have friends whose children are the same age and they go to Kingswood,KES and Royal High. From what I have heard at KES is a lot more pressure and children are tested every 2-3 months to be assessed if they can still continue their education there, which for certain robust kids it is very good as they rich their full potential.
I am my self in the position that I am tempted to try KES as I want the best academic results but I am not sure if my daughter will put up with the pressure..

Goodness! @Codruta - is this correct - KES assess children every few months in the junior school and they are out if they don’t make the grades?! Do they care about personality/ attitude- do they need to be outgoing and achieve in other areas too do you know? Did you stay at Kingswood? We have been looking at KES - so thanks for your post x

@FlyingHigh55 - where did you go for in the end, and how has it been?
