I would be grateful for any reviews on RGS prep school in Guildford. Or any good alternatives?

My boys are at school elsewhere but we hope to move towards Guildford/Surrey after living here in the past . We looked around it for an open day. The parking situation does seem a bit chaotic but it seems a lovely school.

Absolutely amazing school. The best boys’ school in the area by far. But - certainly in the prep school (year 3+) it is academic, so wouldn’t be a good fit for every child.

I've heard it can be challenge to get into RGS but these guys have some helpful materials. Wouldn't be surprised if numbers are down for 2024-25 and beyond because of the VAT issues and plans to remove their charitable status.
