Ds1 is in year 6, and only has a few weeks left of term. He has 2 teachers who covers his class, both fantastic, really supported him with SATs, school camp and preparing for big school. Would like to buy something nice, not too expensive (I'm on mat leave). Any ideas? Does anyone do a whole school staff gift for y6? Or just individual teacher?

From what I've heard (I have a friend who's a teacher), teachers really appreciate handwritten notes or cards made by their students, my friend treasures the ones she got dearly! If your DS feel like doing this, it would be an amazing idea.
A whole stuff gift might be a little too much, though it also depends on what kind of gift you're going to get them. Edibles and tea or coffee sets are always welcomed! You can also do something slightly personalized, like a wall calendar with photos of the class, if you have any. You can use calendar creator software, there are plenty of programs that let you design your own thing and it comes off cheaper than getting a personalized calendar from a photo store.

Handwritten card. In the nicest way, nothing ‘tag’ or clutter so for me no mugs etc - we’d get so many.
chocolate or wine, a coffee shop card. Anything over £10 is likely to have to be declared anyway so stay under that.

A big box of glue sticks, please!!!! Or a box of good quality whiteboard pens? We ran out of both in May.

One lovely Leaver’s mum donated a massive box of boxes of tissues last year that’s only just been finished! I thought of her and her son with great affection every time I got another box out!

I’m a teacher and the nicest thing anyone can do is to give me a card, or even just come to tell me, saying that they have enjoyed my lessons and think that I am a good teacher. That is what I am there for.
