Hi, can anyone please guide me the best primary schools in luton?

You’re more likely to get helpful responses if you post on the Primary Education board. Academic Common Room is for people who work in Higher Education, so unfortunately it’s unlikely many of us could help with your query.

Hi,OP, Sorry to jump on your post but we've moved your thread to the 'Primary Eduction' board where, as PP said, you'll hopefully get more help.

We lived there briefly and there was little choice of school, everywhere was so oversubscribed. We visited a few and didn’t like any so went over the border towards Hitchin where we found a village school we liked.

What area of Luton are you looking at? Someries Infants is a really great school with fantastic facilities. It has over 200 applicants for 60 spaces. Most of these do come from
the catchment area

Thank you soo much for your response, I really appreciate. Actually we only have 3 options in school, which have vacant spaces available for year 1 and that is wigmore primary school, putteridge primary school and sacred heart catholic school in that area. I am just confused which one to opt for. Also if anyone can guide that if its wise to change catholic school with good ofsted in town center to any other school in luton. I am so sorry for the mum’s worries.

I would avoid Wigmore, it's not a great school. I didn't find the headteacher great at the open evening. His main concern seemed to be about attendance. They recently found a bag of cocaine at the school.

Putteridge is a really good school. Lovely staff. I know a lot of kids who have got on the well there. I don't know much about the catholic schools.
