How often are parents expected to attend assemblies etc?

My child doesn't start primary school for another year. However, I'm looking to possibly apply for a job at a school. The bonus would be I would get all school holidays off the negative would be I probably wouldn't be able to attend events at my child's school. I was just wondering how many events you have to attend during the primary school term on average?

Dc went to two different primary schools both with lots of working parents and one had many - at least two a term and the big events - other just had the big events.

We've also has p/t evening in daytime with latest appointment being 5.30.

It will vary hugely by school I imagine. For us (lots of working parents at the school), it's just the nativity which also happens in the evening, and sports day. They also ask for parents to accompany trips which is nice if you can do it.

I work FT but I manage to drop off a few times a week and pick up once - I think I'd miss those more than the rare events if I changed job. It's nice to see their friends, have a quick chat with the other mums etc.
