Switching schools - leaving date

My dd is changing schools, she starts new school in Sept.

Prior to knowing she would be changing schools, I booked a cheeky holiday which requires calling her in sick for the last day and a half of term. 😬

Her current school finishes up on the 23rd, her new school on the 18th. Her last day at current school will be the 19th.

I need to complete a leavers form and I'm wondering if I can put the 19th down as her last day? Technically the new school doesn't take over her education until September so I'm not sure if this will complicate matters, that said it applies if I use the last day of term also?

It would just be nice for her to have an official last day rather than calling in sick.

When a child moves school, we have to phone the new school to confirm that they have started before we can take them off roll, no matter what the parents say is the last day ( so children don't become " missing in education" So your child will still be marked as absent in the current school register until the new school confirms they have started there.
Whether that bothers you or not is a different matter!
