Hi everyone!
I’m moving to Hitchin soon with my husband, son and baby girl due in Nov, and would really appreciate some advice on primary schools. My son will be starting school in September 2025 and the house we’ve offered on just south of the A602 road doesn’t have an outstanding rated primary as the closest school (I know these ratings have mixed opinions but it’s just a reference point).
Does anyone have any opinions on Kingshott private / Samuel Lucas / William Ransom or any others? Also, is competition to get children into good primaries very fierce in Hitchin - I.e. if we’re not obviously in the catchment then we should apply for private because it’s unlikely our son will get in?
We haven’t been through the school admissions process before and have never lived in Hitchin so all comments and help welcome. Also any advice on nurseries also much appreciated but I appreciate that is a lot of info for one post.
