Feel a plonker asking such a daft question but I don't have anyone else to ask😅
When would people say is the right weather to wear a school fleece?
My oldest has recently started a new primary school and a fleece is part of the uniform.
Would people use it as a jacket to go to and from school in with no cardigan etc underneath? (My daughters stuffing her cardigan in her book bag when she's at school atm because she's warm)
Or would people use it for the colder weather with a cardigan/jumper underneath ?

What does the school uniform policy say? I’d assume it’s to be worn as a jacket in cooler weather

fleeces are also available as are a range of outdoor coats with the school logo

It IS confusing! Glad you figured it out for your school. DS has fleeces he wears instead of jumpers, ie worn all day on top of his polo shirt. He also has a reversible fleece/coat that is designed to be worn as a coat!

I bought mine fleeces (in addition to coats and jumpers) and they hardly got worn. Only when it was really cold, and they wanted an extra layer over their jumpers indoors (esp during covid with all windows open).

So I would say don't bother for now.

My younger son refuses to wear school jumpers as he doesn't like pulling tight things over his head. He wears his fleece instead of a jumper. In winter/if it's raining he has a waterproof coat to go over the fleece. Otherwise he just wears school polo shirt and fleece.
