Our family will be moving from Singapore to the UK at the end of next month. It has been difficult to decide the best place to rent a house. Our priority is finding a good state primary school for our two kids (aged 6 and 8 yrs) ; in Solihull / Earlsdon/ Leamington Spa. They seem like popular places to live as a family. It would be great to hear about your views on :

  1. Which are the localities in your experience that are good for primary school? (Looking for suggestions about catchment areas.) Our younger son will be in Year 2 and our older in Year 5. Since our older one will be transitioning to secondary school relatively soon, it would be useful to know about your suggestions on secondary schools as well.
  1. Which neighborhoods in Earlsdon/Solihull do you think are most family-friendly? We'd like to live in an area which has easy access to transport, shops, and activities for kids (like library, swimming, football, etc).

We would appreciate your insights!

Hi!

Just stumbled upon this.

Can highly recommend south earlsdon- check out war memorial park and its surrounding areas. There is a lot do do for children- google "coventry rocks" for a really comprehensive list of various activities.

Can't comment on schools I'm afraid! But I find Earlsdon safe, friendly and a generally great place to raise a family.

Solihull wonderful also- check out Knowle and Dorridge too.

Good luck!!
