DD yr2 in tears when class teacher absent in the morning

DD had trouble settling in reception, but seemed to be over it completely in year 2. She now cries in the morning when the class teacher is replaced by a supply teacher, which has happened weekly recently. The teacher is never in on a Tuesday, which DD grumbles about, but isn't upset by.

To be honest, I'm a bit fed-up by how much the teacher seems to be in meetings etc these days - she already has Tuesdays for preparation etc.

I know it's not a huge thing, but since she doesn't cry often these days it seems significant to me. Does anyone have any ideas for how she can be helped?

My DS's hate having a supply teacher too. I can tell just by looking as DS1 when he comes out of school if he's had a supply. Does the school manage to get the same supply teacher regularly, or is it several different teachers?

Maybe have a word with the head, asking for a regular person to suply cover?

I would like to talk to the school really, I'm not sure how much we should expect the class teacher to be there. One day out a week seems plenty to me.

They do have regular supply teachers, but one is a bit grim!
