Cat4 score vs STEN score

Non-Verbal: 43/48

Verbal: 30/48

From what I read (correct me if I'm wrong):

Non-Verbal and Spatial scores give an idea of potential.

Quantitative and Verbal scores represent Maths and English levels.

A difference of more than 10 between Non-Verbal and Verbal indicates a problem that is supposed to be investigated. But what do you do with that information?

Their primary school STEN score for Maths is 10, and for English is 9, every year, so their education level is not bad.

My feeling is to just shove the CAT4 score in a drawer and forget about it.

The school should be able to tell you more about the scoring... pretty complicated if you ask me... they should do the analysis for you !

If it were my child I'd be confused and asking the school about the discrepancy between the very high Eng/Maths Sten scores and the average Quantative and Verbal scores, were both tests done in the same year?
