Primary School Dilemma

Just wondering what others would advise.

Unfortunately I'm being slightly vague to avoid being recognised, but basically I have a child in year 5 who is very unhappy at school. The reasons being is the management of year 5 at the moment by the school.

I have looked at other primary schools and one has really stood out which has a vacancy.

My question is, do we ride the storm until July with the hope year 6 will be better? Or do we jump ship now so close to the 11 plus exam?

Thanks.

What will be different in year 6?
Are there local schools with places in year 5?

We jumped ship in year 5 with an unhappy child. Best thing we ever did for them and us. They then went up to high school with new friends and are still friends now. I hope this works out for you. It’s awful when they’re unhappy at school.

What will be different in year 6 will be (hopefully) stable staffing situation. In the space of two weeks my child once had nine different supply teachers.

This has been going on now for over three months. No idea of child's progress at school.

Lots of village schools have a space, I've already been around them all. The one which stood out for me might end up a nightmare with traffic though. It's hard to know. At the moment my child walks home from school.
