Wanting to get this for ds and when I go to subscribe there's a section for a tell a friend code and it means a 3 month free period for both them and me.

Ds loves this and I'm going to subscribe anyway but thought someone could use it too

It is brilliant - I was going to subscribe but dd does it at school and we have a password for homework - I didn't want her bored because she was repeating stuff she's already done, ifyswim.

This is the first site that ds has been interested in. he's never been into school work and wanting to support in any way possible. he's 6, and just taking off in reading after being so not into it with the inevitable result of being an independent reader in class( ie on his own at the tail end )
Things are changing for the better and with support from school and lots of input here, he's almost in with a group. Still abit of catching up to go though.

Sorry, big speil about my boy, but it's been a worry!

I'm glad he's catching up, it must have been worrying, especially if he has been feeling it too. EC is great for phonics activities so I'm sure he'll get a lot from it.

We've just had a reading workshop at school and quite a lot of it was about how boys often find reading less interesting and that it can be hard to motivate them. They suggested reading on websites and using comics with them. The teacher had holiday mags, cook books and DIY catalogues in her reading box and she said that the boys seemed to love them.

I have a code if anyone wants it... C4245A4B

It is a great site and well worth the 30quid.

Mucha · 30/03/2008 17:18

I was thinking about it for my two kids but i noticed that you have to pay a sub for each child. Does it really make a difference? Can't you just pay one sub and use it for two kids?

shreksprincessfiona · 30/03/2008 17:21

Thanks Tiger, I'll do it later and hopefully you'll get 3 months extra.

Mucha, I think it's in case they're at different stages you would get 2 stages. if you're happy for them to do the same activites then just register one child.

Mucha · 30/03/2008 17:24

Ah ok, makes sense. It's hard to know though if they could do the same activities! Will perhaps try if with one.

shreksprincessfiona · 30/03/2008 17:24

Also just found a discount code- if you type in school there's £10 off, totel of £20. There is an built in ability to change levels 3 times it says.

Hi subscribed today to educationcity. Our tell a friend code is C8263F4F. Both families will get 3 months extra subscription free.

kodokan · 23/04/2010 11:34

MamaU, is it ok to use your code to subscribe still? (Not sure if there's a limit.)

Or does anyone else have one they'd like me to use?

First to respond on this thread wins the 3 months!

Thanks very much.

Thank you to whoever used my code a while back - I got 2 lots of free months, so thank you, whoever you are....!

IndigoBell · 19/08/2010 20:57

I used someone's code (not sure whose) - but got to say I'm very unimpressed with the site.

Worth it if £30 is nothing to you - but if you're really watching your pennies I don't think the site is all that brilliant.

Gorran · 21/08/2010 11:05

Just used your refer a friend code Bobbyboo, hope that's ok.

scoobydont · 24/08/2010 12:19

tikkapots - have used your code today

IndigoBell · 24/08/2010 13:11

Just found Nessy. It's cheaper than Ed City - and I think far better. Although it only does spelling, not the whole curriculum. (But then you could use the money you've saved to find a good maths program as welll...)

Carolinemaths · 07/09/2010 08:33

After reading this thread a few weeks ago, I signed my kids up for the free trial.

I've done a video review on my maths blog, focusing on the maths content, if anyone is interested (but basically, great for preschoolers, not so great for older kidsSmile)
