I think someone once mentioned fairway primary school (I cant find my old post), is it very good? Any experiences?
We currently live in crouch end but are thinking of moving to mill hill if the schools are really good.
Ive seen frith manor - looks great, but houses around there are very pricey.

thankyou

Fairway is a lovely one form entry. The children who attend are very well behaved and polite. Will be undergoing some building work in about a years time to join primary to a childrens centre. Teachers are queing up to work at this school. You do have to practically live on the doorstep, but if not you can still get in on the waiting list. Why not visit the school or e-mail them.

I went to Deansbrook.. and lived next door, great little school... 40 years ago tho, so you may require a more up to date report!!

I used to live in Mill Hill East which is the most uninspiring surburbia ever. It is very pricey as will Mill Hill which is ok. The Broadway is very handy. I was amazed at the cost of a pokey 1930's semi detached around there though. Daft but apparently the whole area is in demand.

I wasn't aware of any good schools there though apart from the private ones and the Jewish ones.

I've heard fantastic things about Frith Manor, but the area is dull and bloody expensive. Woodridge is a nice little school, closer to Woodside Park. Have you thought about Finchley or another part of Barnet (good borough for schools in general)? One thing I would warn is that if you are moving to any area of Barnet for a particular school, you should move on to the doorstep of the school! Most of the good state primaries are heavily oversubscribed and if you live more than 0.5 miles away you've got little chance of getting in.

many thanks for these very valuable replies. Lupy we saw a gorgeous house near to fairway, but it was too close to the M1. In fact the school itself is quite close, and the immediate area around it not too nice...we are a family of asthmatics.

MrsMattie - frith manor seems great but youre right the area is dull and SO expensive. Will look into woodridge. WOuld have preferred to live in finchley but dont know of any other good schools there...

If you buy a house quite near to Fairway you are also assured of getting into Mill Hill County High when you reach secondary

thanks lupy...the admin officer at fairway said the same. I just worry about the air

If you wanted to live in finchley there is a nice infant and junior school there called Moss Hall junior school. There is also a orchestra club there on Saturday mornings.

going to look up moss hall now..Really do like finchley. Head going round and round in circles - never been more confused.
thanks lupy
