If you are a parent of a child in a Scottish Primary or Secondary and believe mobile phones should be restricted or banned in school then please comment below and PM me if you would like to be part of a reasonable national campaign to ensure that Scottish pupils have the same safeguarding as most English pupils.

Why don’t they already have the same safeguarding as kids in English schools? Can you explain pls?

I agree with the phone restrictions in schools but I think maybe you're complicating the issue by making a comparison with English schools both for your campaign and for this thread.

Don’t most schools already have their own rules around technology use in school?

If you want greater controls on phones in Scotland than lay out what you want.

I wouldn't waste energy comparing with England - the Tories here are doing a basic PR exercise by 'banning' something most schools have already dealt with, whilst doing nothing about what happens outside school.

School already have adequate restrictions in place.

Tbh I don't really think it's a schools problem. Better to get action at a higher level with the smartphone providers and app developers rather than dealing with schools.

Recent guidance for English schools is that phones should be banned. Most schools in England already have restriction in place but it is very different in Scotland where very few schools have any restriction. Violence is sky rocketing in Scottish schools and there is often a connection with mobile phones.
