Relocating to Putney, looking at schools for DD reception and DS Y3.

Love thoughts on Falcons, Prospect or Merlin or any other options? TIA

Have a look at Hurlingham School, great nurturing school, good luck!

Agree look at Hurlingham but don't cross Putney for a school - take into account ease of journey.

Thanks for Hurling tip will check it out! Any thoughts on falcons? I know it has recently gone coed!

Merlin only goes to age 8 so I wouldn't bother with that unless you want to move them again.
Know happy children at Hurlingham and Prospect House. There are also good state schools in Putney.

Worth having a look at The Roche - lovely co-ed prep (up to Y6), very nurturing and warm and providing academic stretch suited to each child. They also offer, in addition to the 'standard', Spanish bilingual stream from Reception if you are interested (currently up to Y2, I think, as it is recent)

Thanks! I hadn't looked there so will do! Interested to get any info on Falcons, I know it has gone coed recently but if there are any current parents happy to share view, that'd be super helpful!

PHS has unfortunately gone downhill under present Headmaster and there's been a bit of an exodus of kids (including our DC) and staff, but I'm told he's leaving this July 2024. The new Head starting in September 2024 will hopefully pull PHS up to its former status of a fantastic Putney co-ed school.

DS is currently at Prospect House Year 6, and has been there since Nursery. PHS is a small, nurturing school with a focus on wellbeing and has a fantastic close-knit community of families. Class sizes are small, teachers are super supportive, and results speak for themselves in terms of destination schools (particularly as a non-selective school). New Head (appointed Sept 2024) has hit the ground running, updating the school and bringing fresh ideas with her. Would recommend again and again, DS will be very sad come July when it's time to say goodbye.
