Moving house

Hello
We have submitted our DCs primary school application before 15th Jan. We had made an offer on a house (just down the road) in October 2023 thinking that the move would happen before the application deadline or by latest 8th Feb deadline. But due to the holiday period and other unforeseen circumstances it is only now that we have received all the searches and in a position to exchange contracts. Our sellers are asking for a completion latest by end of march. If we move house first week of April should we inform our LA about the move?

Please note this is an infant to junior transfer application and the school policy is all the children in infants are given priority regardless of where they live.

Thanks

You need to consult the information for parents on your LA's website, but those with which I am familiar say that the LA must be notified of any change of address during the application year.

If the intake for the junior school is at least the same as that for the infants, it shouldn't be a problem, though.

If we move house before the outcome and notify the LA, would the LA treat it as a late application?
