4+ waitlist South Hampstead, St Christopher's

Starting the annual waitlist thread for anxious parents!

My DD is on the waitlist at these two schools. Offerholder deadline is Tuesday 6th Feb at South Hampstead and Wednesday 7th Feb at St Christopher's.

Anyone else on these waitlists? Or holding offers and not sure what they'll do?

I love both the schools so got everything crossed.

The deadline for both are 7th of Feb. We have already declined St C on Monday.

We are going to the Shhs offer holders morning on Monday so movement might happen after, I know a few people still holding a couple of offers and attending on Monday before final decision.

Thank you, not sure why I thought the deadline was the 6th. Also good info re the Monday meeting as I can be a bit more relaxed that nothing will happen today.

Are any of those you know holding offers from both St C's and SHHS?

I think most are holding SHHS and NLCS or SHHS and Highgate. I know 3-4 people who have declined St C this week, you should call up to express your interest if you haven’t already done so.

We are also on the waiting list for St Christopher’s it’s a very anxious wait isn’t it?! we know a few people who have declined already, but I have called and was told she has not received a lot of replies yet, so I guess we will have to wait until Monday at least….😑

Yes certainly anxious. I couldn't sleep much the night before results. Unfortunately the results didn't change much, as it's still a maybe for both!

Interesting that she hasn't received a lot of replies. I guess a lot of people will confirm close to the deadline and that's when there will be movement.

Thanks. I called earlier this week, planning to call again on Monday. Don't want to come across too strong (or too weak).

Hi we are in the same position WL for both SC and SHHS. Going crazy with the wait! I hope to get a space at either one. Let’s hope for some movement on Monday!

GNW3mum I’m sure there will be movement. Have you called to see how far up you are on each waitlist?

Not sure and prob depends on the school. But it’s worth asking I would say… What are they saying to you when you call?

We did called and asked, they wouldn't give much information they said she was in a good position and to be patient, that everything was moving slow. I do wonder by how much they over offer, because I have heard of a few people declining SC and still no news for us.

Call SC this morning still not a lot os movement apparently… I’m assuming they over offered but not sure by how much.. I know a lot of people who are rejecting but maybe it’s just the number of people not actually sending them replies yet.
anyone else gotten any update?

Unfortunately when I spoke to them they were clear it generally goes to the wire, or even later. I think today was the last of the offer holder day events though, so hopefully people will make their decisions and we'll find out soon.

I have counted 10 people who I know are/have rejected SC so I’m hoping depending on how much they over offer they will get to waitlist offers.. just a matter of time now

We have declined Shhs today after the offers event so hopefully the waiting list will move. Best of luck!

SH only had its offer holder morning yesterday, and as of yesterday afternoon they still had lots of offers out which hadn't been accepted or declined. Given that they make (a few) more offers than they have places, it's only at the end of the window that they realistically would start going to the waiting list. There is still hope - good luck! But remember that either way your daughter will do great :)

does feel like torture just not knowing 😫@GNW3mum have you spoken to either school today for an update? SC said yesterday numbers were still slow to change.

Hi @Winchmoremum3, it’s been so stressful to wait around. I did not called today, I called both yesterday and they said it was moving very slowly and there were no news. Did you call today? Have they gone into the WL?

No same message to us yesterday… I guess it will really likely be after 12 tomorrow when the offers just lapse cause people are not replying.
