Independent Schools - North east

Hi!

Our daughter currently attends an all girls school and she’s due to start year one in September. She seems quite happy there other than a few complaints about one specific girl. However, there has increasing number of bullying complaints across the school and we are considering either applying to RGS in Y3 or going to Dame Allan’s. We originally did apply for dame Allan’s however we did not make it in due to the volume of applications that year. I believe we are still on the wait list so I might make a call and ask. I just wanted to know what others experiences have been like with these independent schools?

Well considering how Dame Allen's are treating their secondary school teachers at the moment I would avoid them like the plague to be honest. They may end up losing a lot of their experienced decent teachers if they're not careful. We are looking at rgs but just in the early stages of considering it so not sure, will be keeping an eye on here to see what others think.

I also would be avoiding dame Allen's at the moment as it seems a bit unsettled there currently.

RGS . I've never heard a bad thing about it. Or in the other direction there is Yarm or Teeside High?
