Hi,

I had posted this in the 4+ assessment thread however thought I might get more existing parents thoughts if I post on the main primary school thread.

We have got a offer for NLCS and would like to understand the options regarding afterschool care and what existing parents do. For the first school, the children must catch the early bus which means pick up from the bus stop is around 4:15-4:30. We might struggle to pick our child up at this time as it means leaving work at around 3:30-3:45pm on a daily basis.

Alternatively there is wraparound care at school until 530, which is longer however it means trekking to Stanmore to get her (takes us about 40-50mins to get there from work/home)

how do working parents cope with this or are there alternatives eg after school nannies/childminder solutions we should explore instead?

thanks

Most working parents will rely on the bus and after school nanny. For some the nanny also does the pick-up which is arguably a little faster for DC and more likely to find a nanny to do more hours rather than very few.
