Hi.

I'm looking at moving to the Heatons but am not familiar with the schools. Does anyone have any experience of St John's CE Primary School in Heaton Mersey in Stockport? Are you able to advise whether the school has a good or bad reputation? Not just academically but in terms of welfare of the children, dealing with issues/bullying etc, how the kids generally feel at the school etc. What mix of people tend to attend this school? How supportive they are of children from lower income families? Anything else that I should know?

Thanks

I don’t have experience of St John’s but can recommend Didsbury Rd School. My niece and nephew went there and I think the school had a good pastoral provision as well as support for lower income families - there was a mixed catchment area. I think the Head changed a few years ago but can’t be sure as my nephew left five years ago. I was a teacher then and was able to compare it to other schools.

They then went on to Priestnal but I had fewer connections there so can’t really comment on your questions.
