Hello - looking for some latest feedback on the best prep schools in and around Parsons Green. What are the latest views on Parsons Green Prep, Thomas's, Fulham Prep? What about some of the other well known names further out like Eaton House, Falkner, Garden House?

Has anyone also moved their children from one school to another from reception onward?

Thanks!

My son currently attendeds St James Prep school at the top of north end road opposite Olympia. It’s lovely school and highly recommended

We selected PGP for reception 2024 due to various factors from Thomas's Kensington, Fulham Prep and PGP
Did lots of research and feedback etc hoping we will be happy with our choice we se loved the facilities, head, steam push, outdoor space and catering, good results, happy kids and parents

Would not recommend Parsons Green Prep school at all. They do not care about children. Classrooms are tiny after reception with up to 22 children packed in each room and no air conditioning. The emphasis is on profit not education, cutting back on teachers, assistants and experiences. Management do not listen to concerns of parents. (Get hold of the parent rep meeting minutes and you will see this for yourselves).
Fees increase wildly each year and are completely out of proportion with facilities, pastoral care, teaching, the estate and extracurricular activities. Teaching standards are variable with some very uninspiring teachers. Selection criteria for admission is not transparent and any child with additional needs is ostracised.
Families leave in their droves every year. Plenty of much better independent and state schools locally.

oh I was hopping to send my son there... Can you tell me which once are the better independent and state schools locally?
Thank you.

We feel incredibly fortunate that our dd attends Fulham Pre-Prep. The small class sizes ensure she gets the individual attention and the staff are simply wonderful—so warm, attentive, and truly dedicated to the children’s happiness and growth.
The school’s Headteacher is nothing short of amazing. He takes the time to know each child personally and understands their unique potential, which has been such a comfort to us as parents.
They have recently added a fabulous new playground which has also been a huge highlight for our dd . She absolutely adores it and talks about it constantly! It’s clear that the school goes above and beyond to create a fun, engaging environment that children love.
We couldn’t ask for a more nurturing and supportive place for our little one. Fulham Pre-Prep feels like an extended family, and we are so happy to have found it. Highly recommend visiting it….

If you’re considering throwing the net as far as Glendower, do look at Newton Prep - we commuted there from Fulham for DS and DD and it was worth every metre!

Don't waste your money on Parsons Green Prep, schools like Thomas's or Ken Prep for a girl are far superior. The families are all lovely but unfortunately very few stay, Year 6 classes often only have around 10 children. As said by a previous poster management treat fee paying parents as a necessary evil and not as a partner in their child's education journey. I also agree with a previous comment about children with additional needs being ostracised. The new head has not caught up with modern education at all. They also have no meaningful relationships with senior schools. They cannot retain any good staff, teachers, admins and even the chef left after a very short stint.

I am a new parent at Fulham Pre Prep this year and cannot say enough positive things about it. Our daughter joined reception and is absolutely thriving. We could not be happier with it. Happy to talk more to anyone considering it and very much recommend it.

We ruled out PGP due to small number higher up and Thomas’s as it felt too chaotic. My DD didn’t get a place at Ken Prep and we weren’t keen on Fulham Prep. Ended up doing the bus to Eaton House The Manor which our nursery recommended and DD love it. You have to be ok with the commute. It’s about 20-30 mins but also quick enough to drive yourself (15-20 mins) for assemblies or concerts. There are quite a few Parsons Green children.
