Hello
We are in the London borough of Waltham Forest. I am applying for my child's infants to Junior transfer. We are in the process of buying a house within the borough and the estimated date of completion is 5th Feb. The last day to notify the council of change of address is 8th Feb. What documents do you think we can get in 2-3 days to send as evidence? Will the council accept the solicitors letter stating date of completion. I tried ringing them and they were pretty clueless.
Thanks

You can usually send documents once you have exchanged - I assume a copy of the contract and possibly a solicitor letter.

The brochure states that you should be in residence at the new address.

I thought that a copy of your exchange documents with an exchange date before 8th usually works. Or possibly something done at competition by your solicitor. It's about as official as you can get! I would also aim to amend your council tax ASAP. You can probably notify them of a move in advance, so I'd do that at exchange. We get online bills, although I don't know how long they take to produce.

If they can't answer your question, then they don't have a definitive list and hopefully will be reasonable with what you provide. I would email them now to try and get confirmation in writing in case of any issues.
