HAF/FSM confusion

I just wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation to me.

I was unaware until very recently that my son has qualified for pupil premium. He just started school and so obviously gets UFSM and I never made an application as such.

I was unaware until we got an e voucher at half term and then some HAF vouchers. Anyway I tried to research why we had qualified as an first glance despite being on UC our income is above threshold. I spoke with the school and the LEA who didn't know but just said it had been done through my national insurance number. We are a sole income house hold with just my husband working.

Anyway I saw online (for our county certainly) that if you are on any benefits and your child is below compulsory school age but in education you then qualify. I just wondered if any one else has been in a similar situation. I'm not sure what other parents in my class qualify so it's hard to ask anyone what their situation is

Some reassurance would be wonderful:)
