My DS starts school full time in September - we got the application form last July and had to submit it by the end of September. We got confirmation of his place in December.

I think our LEA does things early but I would think that almost everywhere will have finshed applications by now, unless you are moving into the area.

We applied late this jan. what should we do?

no sorry, we had to 'register an interest' at the school by end of October 07 and apply to the Council by 18 December 07

if I remember correctly

we get the result next month

Oliveoil · 13/03/2008 13:54

they will have all the info relevant to you

bundle · 13/03/2008 14:02

it says 20 march pomi

Fimbo · 13/03/2008 14:02

Deadline for applications for LEA was last November. I think we hear on 23rd April.

LadyMuck · 13/03/2008 14:12

Pomi, did you put down more than one school?

Places are announced next Thursday although some of the church schools announce earlier. But places even at the more popular schools come up right to the start of September as there is a fairly large turn-over. Strictly if you missed the December cut-off they won't consider your application until next Thursday. In practice, depending on which school you opted for, you may hear very quickly.

Pomi · 14/03/2008 11:32

Thank you so much for your messages. I put down two schools. School of my first priorty has not given ds2 place in nursary so i dont think there is any chance of ds1 getting place at school.

Hard to say from that as different years have very different profiles. We live in the South of the borough and could pretty much track that we would get into our preferred school in alternate years. That said a late application won't have helped I'm afraid. Where abouts int he borough are you - waiting lists do move quiet a bit and there are a few MNers in the area who might know the word on the street for your schools.

JodieG1 · 14/03/2008 12:14

We don't find out until end of April.
