Banstead Prep vs Aberdour

Hi there, I am considering registering my child, who will start reception in 2025. I have shortlisted Banstead Prep and Aberdour. We come from an Indian family, and I have seen a few posts related to ethnic minorities. Is this a thing that we need to consider before selecting the school? We want to choose a better school for my son, and what aspects should I consider when deciding on the school?

Don’t know about Banstead, but as an Aberdour parent I can say that the school really is very good in providing pastoral support and instilling confidence in the children. The school is a happy place and the confidence that the children show is a valuable thing. Good facilities too. My main criticism would be that the school tends not to challenge sufficiently the more academic children. But my child, who is academic, has thrived there, partly because the solid emotional base the school provides gives a good foundation for self-development through reading and further studying at home.
