DD has come home with a black eye

My dd has just come home with a black eye, says she fell over a chair at school. I think this is probably what happened but am concerned there is nothing writen in the home diary - it is quite a nasty bruise on the corner of the eye.

Am I being a fusspot, just felt something would have been written down about this?

My ds has come home with a black eye and has a little scar on the side of his head where he was pushed against a clothes peg and like you nothing was reported to me, instead i had to hear it from my ds about the peg incident and the Mother of the boy who gave my ds a black eye came up and apologised to me in the playground. As my ds is only 4 i thought they would make a point of telling me and reassure there is no bullying but to be honest what i am seeing of my ds school i do not think they really care. So no i do not think you are over reacting it would be nice to know that they are o.k

They should have let you know. We get notes whenever they hurt themselves detailing what happened and how it was dealt with.

As it is a head injusy I am suprised that there isn't a note to inform you.

At DD's school for such an injury, or less TBH, the teacher would have sought me out at home time to tell me. If it was on the ehad like this there would be a head injury note as well.

you should have gotten an accident slip and the teacher should have pulled aside and told about it.

you should definitely have a wee written note of some kind - accident form even.

Well I have telephoned the school - answer machine, so have left a bright and breezy message just saying that I thought they would have written something down about this and possibly an explaination would be helpful just incase my dd has got the story wrong.

Shall see if they get back to me - I do wonder if it has been written in the accident book?
