Applying for junior school - do I use all 3 choices?

Silly question, there’s only 2 junior schools in our town but the admissions book and all the advice is to name 3 schools.
I’m a bit confused.
Do I just name the 2 junior schools?
Or am I meant to name one of the primary schools as well?
We’re very likely to get into one of the junior schools because it’s a feeder from the infants although we are out of catchment (we have catchment maps) our catchment is a primary. We moved house last year so we when we applied for infants we were in catchment for the infants/juniors but not anymore.

You can just name one if you want, but what it would mean is that if you didn't get it you would then just be given whatever places we're left over and no say about it. Unless you can 100% guarantee you will get a place at the Junior Schools you want I would name 3 options in order of preference.

I'd put your catchment primary on there too.

(Do you mean fixed catchment areas or just the usual distance?)

We have catchment maps. Is you live in the map area you get priority. If they don’t fill the places they then go on distance.

Admissions for preferred juniors

  • LAC/EHCP
  • attend infants and live in catchment
  • live in catchment and closest first
  • attend infants and live out of catchment
  • live out of catchment and closest first
We fall under the bold one.

Apologies I read it as catchment changed but you mean you moved out of catchment?

Definitely use your catchment school somewhere on your form then!

Name 3 in order of preference and include your catchment primary. Looks like you want to go to the linked juniors so put that 1st then decide whether you want your catchment primary 2nd or 3rd and include another school for a just in case.

Ah, sorry, I was slightly unclear.
We moved house. We were originally in catchment, but have physically moved out of catchment. The catchment hasn’t changed.

Excellent all, we will put our preferred juniors first, catchment primary 2nd and then the other juniors 3rd. Thank you for helping me clear this up so quickly 😊
