Anyone is waiting for the Guildford High 4+ result 2023? Wonder when we will get it. Have been waiting for a week more.

I don’t know if this helps but our daughter is offered a place and we have until November 20th to decide.

Thank you @CSMum23. Yes, we have been told to wait till 22nd Nov for places to clear, but they have not said anything about where my daughter is on the 'waiting list' or any other information about how many places are there etc. This lack of transparency is making me anxious.

CSMum23 · 23/10/2023 10:29

I think they take in 30 girls - so I assume 30 offers went out. Not sure what acceptance percentages are but I’d assume very high. Did you consider calling the school and asking where on the waiting list your daughter is? If she’s at the top - then maybe there’s still a chance?

Surreymama123 · 27/10/2023 22:50

@CSMum23 Just curious, how come you're assuming that acceptance percentages are very high?

Congrats on your DD being accepted!

Thanks

Mydearbaby · 28/10/2023 06:05

Our daughter didnt get the offer. Our friends didnt get too. It doesnt seem that high.

@Mydearbaby sorry to hear that. I'm sure it's not that easy given that there are only a few places. There's always 7+ and some other excellent options in the area.

Best of luck in whatever it is you and your DD decide.

CSMum23 · 29/10/2023 11:29

Sorry, what I meant is acceptance percentages among parents who received the offer - as in most parents who received the offer will likely take it - I didn't mean to suggest that they have high acceptance rate for entry. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

HappyMum0301 · 31/01/2024 12:21

@CSMum23 congratulations to you and your DD for securing a place in GHS. My dd will be going through 4+selection process for GHS. Please could you guide , what all was asked in your dd's assessment day? What activities can I do at home to prepare my little girl for the assessment? In your opinion, what should these little ones know. Thanks so much for your help.

Surreymama123 · 01/02/2024 11:43

There was a good thread in one of the previous years boards around the type of activities that parents can do with their kids. It's not easy to determine exactly what was asked or assessed on the day as getting a straight answer from a 3 year old is pretty much nigh impossible.

I wouldn't recommend anything specific to prep for and would suggest doing the typical activities that any parent would do such as:

phonics, verbal reasoning and general conversing
writing (particularly your own name)
puzzles, lego, arts and crafts - building and dexterity
colouring, drawing
playing well with others

Best of luck!!!
