Can anyone recommend educational screen based games?

Posted in Chat too.

DS 7 has been signed up to TTRockstars at school for his timetables, and he absolutely loves it. It's competitive and gives immediate feedback. He has learnt so quickly compared to other methods.

We also don't have computer games, or much screen time at home, so he sees TTRockstars as a treat.

Reading is plodding on ok as we have books, and the school has an excellent library.

Are there any other games/apps out that that are worth signing up to? Any for other maths concepts? Or perhaps spelling and grammar? I don't mind paying for ones that are good. We have computers/phones/tablets, but no games consoles to play anything on.

We were recommended the website mathsframe. Lots of good games on there, free ones and ones you can pay for.

One thing I have never regretted is learning to touch type. If you think your DS is ready, then an online touch typing game (we have Nessy Fingers but I know that there are others) would be great.
My DS loves Squeebles for spelling - there was a cost but not excessive.
