Any Broomwood Boys parents about who could give me insights into the school please? I'm particularly wondering how it's working out under Dukes Education and whether the school preps well for 11+ assessments for London day schools (as opposed to boarding). Many thanks!

Hi there, we were very keen to send my son to Broomwood (used to be called Northcote Lodge) but we moved further away so didn’t. My friend did and the school definitely prepares for 11+ London day schools. I would really recommend it. My friend’s son was very well prepared and got really good places in Senior schools. I know mine would have been had we not moved.

Ah, thank you so much! How recently did your friend's child finish there?

My son attended Northcote Lodge. It’s very different from the lower years at Broomwood, which were boys and girls and they take extra boys from other schools. Unfortunately it now seems to take on children who haven’t worked out at other schools. My son was bullied and the school did nothing about it whilst the perpetrators continued to misbehave. I wouldn’t send a child there again.

Go and see it for yourself. It’s a great school. Good leadership. Nice families. Turns out polite, well rounded boys.
A good % get places at Alleyn’s, Emmanuel etc if that’s what they want but a sizeable majority do stay on until 13 and those boys get spots at all the usual suspects, Eton, Harrow, Wellington, Marlborough etc.
