I can't find anywhere how to apply for a child to join a primary school mid year when moving here from another country. She's born April 2018 I don't know what year that would be. Help would be appreciated- thanks

She was 5 in April this year, so would currently be in Year 1, assuming you are in England.

The best place to start would be the website for the relevant local authority, that should explain the process. There may be some schools you would need to approach directly if they handle their own admissions, but the LA would be able to tell you.

It is the In Year process which should be outlined on the Local Authority website of whereever you plan to move to. You may be able to list your preferred schools but if these are full you will be offered nearest school with a space.

You need a UK address but contact your local council admissions department for an application form.
