WW2 dress up day.

I need a costume for y6 WW2 day. Anything to do with the topic, but without spending out on a ready made costume. For a girl.

Any ideas??

Easiest is to go down the evacuee route. Dress, cardigan, white socks, school shoes. Cardboard box on string as a gas mask box, and a cardboard label with her name on tied to a buttonhole.

Jeans or dungarees, check shirt, a lunch box and a garden fork

WWII is really easy from what you probably have or can pick up at a charity shop.

Knitted cardy/jumper and skirt with a plain t-shirt.
Or a dress and cardy.

Knee length socks, and t-bar shoes if you have them.

Hair ribbon on 2 plaits if hair is long enough, or just a bow to one side if not long enough.

And a gas mask box can easily be made from any smallish box and string. If you want to make it more authentic then you can print of some labels.
And any luggage tag if you want to.
