5yo DD is in Y1 and needs to make an Easter bunny for this year's competition at school. It can be in any frmat or media and should be primarily the child's own work Wonder how many will be, lol!

Does anyone have any simple but effective ideas for us to consider?

Thank you.

Papier mache and then stick cotton wool/screwed up tissue bits/fluff all over it? You could use a couple of different-sized balloons as head and body, to mould the papier mache onto, and make the ears out of cardboard

Oh, and as to be done by the last week of term - so a couple of weeks.

Hmm...papier mache sounds good if messy! Byt not sure I have the talents to help her model it.

never mind papier mache, start with a loo roll

or make an edible one

(I reckon there's a decent pun in 'hot cross bunny'...)

How about wool pompoms - 1 large brown for body, smaller one for head, tiny white one for tail (or cotton wool), felt ears (cut a long triangle, fold it together at the bottom put a stitch in & take the stitch down through the centre of the head pompomto anchor it) felt or stick on eyes, trim the bottom of the body pompom so it sits flat.

Can you make 12 buns? decorate them with brown icing and arrange them into a bunny head shape with 1 bun in centre, 5 buns round the outside. 3 buns on one side for the ear and 3 on the other for the other. Could then make icing nose and eyes?
A bun-ny bunny?

oh! Better, hardboil an egg for the body, add blob of cotton wool for tail, and make head and ears of of plastecine and cardboard? Eastery, no? A baby carrot to set it off?

DD loves the origami site! And we have managed to do a imple rabbit head, yeah

So, DD's idea now is to put an origami rabbit head on a lollipop stick, make a cardboard flowerpot wit flowers in, and somehow attach the rabbit puppet behind the flowerpot to make it pop up.

Reckon we can do it?
