Prep schools in Liverpool - is Stanfield (Merchants) worth a commute?

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of prep schools in Liverpool?

We are currently considering Carleton House, Belvedere and Merchants. We live in the South of Liverpool, so we are closer to Carleton and Belvedere. However, we much prefer Merchants as a school. We like that it provides education all the way from reception to six form and feel that the other two focus too much on preparing children for the Bluecoat exam. Our commute to Merchants would be 30 minutes each way and there is a school bus. Is it worth the commute? I'm thinking yes, but would like to hear from anyone who has experienced it.

Thanks :)

DD1 didn't go to Stanfield but is at the senior school. I also went there many years ago! We really like the school and want to send DD2 there too. The parents I have spoken to who had children in Stanfield seemed to mainly have positive things to say about it!
