School uniform for a skinny boy

Any recommendations please of where to buy school trousers and especially joggers, in navy blue, for a very thin child?

Asda used to have slim fit/slim waist but don't seem to have any more. Joggers are all enormous on him.

TIA

Have you tried marks? They have the secret inside button elastic?

Joggers, have you found any with a draw string? Asda had some.

Asda online still do skinny fit.. Delivered free to store.

Raindancer411 · 24/07/2023 14:34

Marks have started doing clothing in slim and plus for different shapes, so maybe have a look there. I am going to get the slim waist, slim leg trousers

Bowlplatesoupandroll · 24/07/2023 14:34

Marks and Spencer for school trousers, they have the adjustable waist plus the extra hem so can go down a size.
I go for drawstring joggers (have slso been known to fold and stich them at the sides to pull them in.

Veryangryboy · 24/07/2023 14:35

Thanks, I should have said he can't manage a drawstring waist due to a disability, needs to something with elasticated but smaller waist.

Are skinny fit smaller on the waist? I thought just slimmer leg? They used to do some called 'slim waist' at Asda but don't have them any more.

Thank you! Will look at M&S.

Joggers are a nightmare!!
School trousers - M&S have adjustable waists. Skinny fit, or extra long and size down on age.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 24/07/2023 14:40

Another vote for M&S
DS is super skinny & they do an extra slim fit. I still have to pull in the elastic tabs at the waist!

Tubbyinthehottub · 24/07/2023 14:50

I find Next school trousers better for slim boys than M&S.
Joggers are hard, I would get drawstring waist but tie a double knot so he can still take them on and off without adjusting.

fgfhds · 24/07/2023 14:56

M&S do slim fit slim trousers, they are great! They also do slim fit shirts. You've missed it this year, but if you get on with them and go to buy again next year they always do 20% off school uniform around early-mid July.

Leggings?

IamChipmunk · 24/07/2023 15:28

Next do skinny fit joggers. My ds is very slim and they have always fitted him.
They don't always come up as a listing but if you click into the actual product it will give you the option of slim or skinny fit.

The school trousers come in slim fit but have the adjustable waist.

Ive always found M&S big fitting!

KickboxingWanker · 24/07/2023 15:30

I get my skinny boy joggers from Next - they do a slim fit and last really well.

timtam23 · 24/07/2023 15:34

One of my DSs is very slim and standard navy blue joggers were always far too big around the waist. I ended up buying some Fruit of the Loom ones online, they had a very elasticated waist so came up much smaller around the waist. From memory they were quite long so we sized down (he wanted uncuffed joggers but they do also have a version with cuffs).
For school trousers in general, Tu at Sainsbury's have always been a good fit and not baggy

Veryangryboy · 24/07/2023 16:17

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've ordered some from Next as m&s don't have navy.

Marks and Spencer slim waist slim leg

BlueRidgeMountain · 14/04/2024 13:02

Next skinny got joggers are perfect for DS2. For school trousers the Tesco skinny fit seem to be the best, and hard wearing on the knees (very important for him!)
