Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the changes taking place at St Anthony’s School for Girls in Hampstead? A shift from all girls and Catholic to co-ed and non-denominational seems a big one…

Sorry where did you hear about this? From what I’ve heard only the nursery is coed? There’s a brother school in hampstead already?

The school say the head will maintain full autonomy and all that will change is moving to co-Ed and removing religious affiliation. The new owners want boys to carry on through the school from nursery and hope this will grow the school to full capacity. The senior staff say they don’t envisage boys joining in a girl only school rather they stay on from nursery. Wouldn’t the new investors/owners (Inspired Education) have their own targets for excellence/ making profit?? And it’ll be known as Ivy House not St Anthony’s.

Do you know if they’ll be taking boys in the forthcoming Reception intake please? Will many boys stay on from nursery this year or did the Co-Ed announcement come too late, as presumably the majority of those moving into reception would’ve found places elsewhere? Considering for my son but not sure if he’ll be the only boy?! Do you know how many pupils they have in each year please? Thanks
