Fed up of SLT projects

Anyone else get sick of SLT members having whole school projects that we all have to jump through ridiculous hoops for?

One of our SLT has been doing one this year & it's mainly so we can tick boxes and get a little stamp on the schools letterhead stationary/a symbol on the website.

It's also clearly a project she's leading so she can pass her Deputy Head training course.

As a staff we are all sick to death of having to work ridiculously hard to jump through hoops for her to move forward in her career.

Yes, I’m 20 odd years in and it’s really obvious when this happens. Our AHT (who is totally incompetent but mates with the head) had us all back for an Inset once and videoed it as evidence for his portfolio!

Yes. However, when you need their support you don’t get any as you’re not a favourite of theirs. Teaching is full of people promoted as they are liked by the headteacher.

The mates thing runs deep, doesn't it. We have had so many members of staff join because they are friends of the SLY or get promoted beyond their capabilities for similar reasons. It boils my blood.

Just had one of them try to haul me over the coals this week for following their instructions (which were in writing). Turns out, they made an error but they have been trying to have a go at me for following what I'd be directed to do.

So sick of all the nonsense.

If the DH is doing an NPQ they aren't project based anymore, there's an open book exam at the end, so hopefully pointless projects will be no more.

Thank goodness for that. It's so obvious what they're doing each time one comes up. All of us are sick of doing unnecessary extra work just so that they can further their own careers when none of it actually benefits the children.

Hopefully that might also catch out the ones who have been promoted due to who they know as opposed to actual capability/intelligence.
